Her studio couldn&#8217;t run the way it used to. I suggested she move her lessons online, and I sat down with her to set up an account on one of the big course platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We gave up after two weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She wasn&#8217;t the problem. She&#8217;s a gifted teacher. The setup was simply too hard, and the platform sold one course at a time when she needed a real curriculum. She just wanted her students to be able to keep learning from her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That experience is why we built ClassSync. It bundles courses, websites, email marketing, sales funnels and automations in one place. For an experienced online marketer, that&#8217;s the appeal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But that power comes with complexity, and Kajabi&#8217;s own users say so. On Capterra, where Kajabi has 229 verified reviews, it scores 4.1 out of 5 for ease of use, lower than its overall 4.4. Reading the reviews, the same themes keep coming up:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One reviewer said it&#8217;s built more for business owners who already have tech knowledge.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Another listed a technical learning curve just to get things up and running.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A reviewer who liked Kajabi overall still said it can take time to understand how everything connects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On Findstack, an agency user wrote that the learning curve for clients who aren&#8217;t tech people is &#8220;a little steep.&#8221; Another said they&#8217;ve had to train fairly tech-savvy people, because it doesn&#8217;t make sense at first.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To be fair, plenty of reviewers also call Kajabi user-friendly. Experience varies. But the complaints share a theme: the platform assumes you already have tech knowledge. Kajabi&#8217;s is easy to see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kajabi runs its own Expert Marketplace of vetted professionals you can hire. Some Kajabi experts also sell monthly retainers, essentially a virtual assistant to handle updates and changes after the site goes live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What the first year can look like.<\/strong> Take that real job post as an example. Kajabi&#8217;s Growth plan, which a growing academy realistically needs, costs $249 a month, or $2,988 for a year on monthly billing. Add a $1,500 to $2,000 setup project and the first year comes to roughly <strong>$4,500 to $5,000<\/strong>, before any ongoing help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kajabi itself charges no setup fee. The cost comes from needing someone else to do the setup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why this isn&#8217;t helping the people who need it most<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We don&#8217;t blame the freelancers. They&#8217;re solving a real problem, and many do good work. Then you pay someone else because the software is too hard to use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>You lose control of your own academy.<\/strong> When someone else built your site and you don&#8217;t know how it fits together, changes can end up going back through them. New semester, new class, new price? It could cover a new instructor&#8217;s hours, new equipment, or scholarships for students who can&#8217;t afford lessons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>It filters out the people who need it most.<\/strong> The people who can&#8217;t afford setup help, like a parent starting a side class or a retiree passing on a craft, are often the ones who&#8217;d benefit most from going online.
